Port 27015

Hello!

My clan is a CS:S clan and I would like to use SourceBans http://sourcebans.net) as a ban manager, but I need port 27015 (UDP) opened to allow the GameServer to communicate with the webserver.

If you could do this, It would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't think this is possible unless you pay for a VPS.

most outgoing ports are blocked on both paid and free hosting, and unless they changed polices again, they won't open that port on either hosting.
Your best bet is to get a VPS and manage your own server, or find another host that has those ports open.
The positive side to the VPS is that you could also probably host your game servers on it, as long as they run under linux.

Sounds like the x10 account would just be an adjunct to the Game Server, not an independent site.

Actually, SourceBans is just a server management utility. It's a php application that concentrate in one location many settings for source-powered game servers such as admins, bans, etc.

Nothing wrong with SourceBans, as what xav0989, it's simply a server and player management panel that is typically used for clan-wide bans. As for modifying the port used to access the game server, that won't work as technically SourceBans is playing on the server, thus it needs to connect to the server's default game port to access SourceMod (which is 27015 by default for Source games). That is, unless the game server has a way to set up SourceMod to listen on port 80.

OP: You'll need a VPS, as Corey will not open ports for the meantime on free hosting.

Sorry, this is only possible on a VPS.

Most ports are blocked to stop abuse
