That honestly depends. What, exactly, are you looking to gain by getting prime? If you are looking for a cheap way to increase your resources (domains, databases, email accounts, etc.) or are looking for a way to get around the activity requirement, then prime is exactly what you are looking for. If you are looking for a magically faster website or something that isn't listed as a feature prime offers in our plan comparison page, then it would probably be a big disappointment for you when you realize that prime membership does not change what server you are on, nor does it give you things like SSH access or Remote MySQL.

If you need the extra resources it has to offer, then no, it's not a waste of money.
