Problems with file permissions

Hello and thanks for reading, i am having trouble with a forum i recently built for my community. It runs on MyBB and looks pretty good overall however, there are some things that will not show up. These include: Avatars, Posting icons, Smilies, the buttons on the MyBB post editor and some other things. I suspect that the problem is in the file permissions under /uploads/avatars and /images. I have tried to set the permissions to 777 but they always change back to 755, i have used both the file manager in CPanel and Filezilla, Any help will be appreciated.

IF 'permissions' set on any folder or file - in your account - are [ 777 ] - that makes a large security risk - so a x10hosting's free-hosting server will throw an immediate "Access Denied" (403 error code) error to protect itself

make sure all file permissions are 0644 (rw-r--r--) and all folder permissions are 0755 (rwxr-xr-x)

Ok i tried this and im still having the exact same problems but thanks for pointing that out.
