I have one. It's one of the older, fatter ones and it's black, but it has the latest firmware on it.

Yes, that's the firmware. I use my PSP at least once a week, so I check for updates first thing on it.

I almost never use my PSP, except when I really need to get on the internet, or when I'm travelling in the car. Otherwise it's good ol' UT for me ;)

I'm planning to buy a psp is it good for browsing the net or does it have lots of limitations?

The PSP Web browser is a Netfront implementation, so it's not that great; on top of that, if you plan to surf the web on PSP you'll have to put up with slow page load times, a massively outdated Flash player, and constant memory run-outs if you try to load, say, a page full of images. Oh, and multiline textboxes have a limited capacity. So, stick to your PC for the web browsing.

The PSP only allows you to use around 2MB of memory, out of 32MB that you can possibly use. Some of that memory is used for things like the firmware and the browser, but it shouldn't use that much.

Also, why the heck is the PSP using only Wireless B? Wouldn't Wireless G allow for better Ad-Hoc game play due to more bandwidth?
