with the free plan, what happens if the site goes over monthly bandwith limits? and is it possible to buy surplus bandwith and if so how much does it cost? and another question, is it possible to upgrade from the free plan to a paid plan without having to make a new account etc and leaving my current website intact? thank you

Yes, There is an option to get space and bandwidth doubled. It is one time fee.

If you purchase a paid plan then you have to post a support ticket in client area then the staff will move the account from the free server to premium server.
