If i spend a lot of time building a site here, can i expect to have the trick 512mb space increased when i reach that level, or is all this just a waste of time ?

The space increases to "unlimited" once past 7 days with your account in use and notifying you to support

There's no automatic increase.

If your account would meet all requirements, you can ask for the increase. Once you done so, an admin will verify that you meet the requirements, and if you do the limits will be increased.

Note though that it will not be instant, since support is done by volunteers on their spare time it may take a few days before your request is looked into. Not all volunteers would have the necessary access to do it.
