Queue for SSL certificate?

I'm a bit confused by the procedure for getting an updated SSL certificate on my site; the one I have is expired. It looks like I can automatically request one from Let's Encrypt, but every time I try to do so, it says I've hit some rate limit. I'm assuming everyone is using this all at once, so do I just have to keep coming back and trying at different times of day until it works? Or is there some way to be put in a queue? There is the retry section at the bottom of the page, but when I click the button to retry now, it says it was successful, but the certificate isn't updated. I see that I can paste my own certificate in, but if I go go Let's Encrypt to get a certificate, they say I have to do it through my hosting provider; I can't just get one on my own anymore. I'd rather not have to go to another third party where I have to pay for a certificate. Is there anything I can do besides clicking the request button constantly or waiting for the auto retry feature (is that the queue?) to actually do something? Thanks!

There is no queue. Basically, just try again later.

You would need to go through hosting control panel Account Manager > SSL Certificates > Get automatic certificate from acme provider
