redirect 404 and other error pages

hi,
I was wondering, is it possible to redirect all 404, 401, 402 and 500 error pages to the main domain?
for example, if the visitor navigates to an error page, instead of showing the error page, he/she will be automatically redirected the the main domain....
is it possible? do I need to play with .htaccess file? or could it be done from cPanel?

It can be done from the htaccess file, or, if using a redirection page as error page, from cPanel as well.
