Request to increase disk space

This is a request to the good folks at X10Hosting to increase the disk space allotted to my account.

The space is 1GB currently and I am using around 950MB or so.

My site is mainly used for providing a download site for the programs I have written for Linux. They are free and open-source.

Of course, there are other pages too, on simulations in Physics, as well as pictures of the various places I have been to.

I plan to add sections on parallel programming, and update and add to the pages on computer simulation. The extra space will be helpful for this purpose.

Don't you have to pay extra for disk space? Pretty standard stuff . . . Just make sure you keep an invoice for everything for your taxes at the end. We did this for our security employees and they ended up staying overtime. We still had to pay them (Of course) but the productivity came with it. Later I found out that we both loved making beats in our part time, which was a great conversation starter.

It's up for them to decide. I'm sure there's factors (ToS, AUP, resource usage, abuse record, etc.) but they can increase it in WHM or whatever they use.

You can probably save a few MB by losslessly compressing your images. For Windows offline I recommend FileOptimizer (download your wp-content/uploads folder, process it, upload it) and/or EWWW Image Optimizer for WordPress.
I was able to compress http://kpatel.x10host.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/IMG_3768.jpg by 32,502 bytes with FileOptimizer.

Thank you, Jumparound and lylex10h, for your replies.

I put in the request because the 1GB limit was being reached, hoping that it would be seen and granted by the admin folks at X10.

There have been similar requests in the forum, and at least one seems to have been approved, but perhaps not in the recent past. I do not know what is the policy regarding such requests.

Anyway, I edited the site and deleted about 100MB of old stuff, so perhaps I have room for some of the new stuff I plan to add. I will try to re-compress the images to get more room.

I am keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed, hoping the request will be approved.
