Recently, X10 has blocked access via curl to most external web sites. I understand that there may have been security issues that prompted this change. However, there are many sites out there that provide legitimate services over the web. My web site uses data from other sources to provide location-aware services such as maps, directions, and business information to mobile BlackBerry users. Without access to these other services the site is virtually useless. I have already moved my site to another free host that has no such restrictions. I would prefer to move back to X10, however.
I request that you allow access to the following sites:
www.runwayfinder.com
www.mapquestapi.com
local.yahooapis.com
api.bing.net
api.yelp.com
These sites are all used for legitimate purposes, not for spamming. Most of them provide REST APIs that require an authorized developer key in order to gain access, and limit the number of accesses on a per-key basis.
Thanks.
