• Pingdom - i use this most often but now realize there are other's available which identify different problems of the website.
• WebPagetest,
• Neustar - load testing (paid services),
• WebsiteTest,
• iWebTool has a whole list of checking tools,
• Vertain,
• GtMetrix,
• WebsiteOptimization also offers articles and a few tools like Web Page Analyzer

• Page Speed Insights (by google)
• YSlow offers add-on tools to your browser to study your website as you build and test it.

• ShowSlow - It captures the results of YSlow, Page Speed Insights, WebPageTest and dynaTrace AJAX Edition rankings and graphs themDo share if you use some other websites to check and improve on your website's speed.
