Yes, the only way to reset an account would be to request termination and creating a new one.

To do so fill out this form:

When you sign up for a new account, please start from within your account panel, that will remain intact and you can login there with the same details as here at the forums. If you chose to not do so, a new forum account would be created and you would be forced to use another email address.
