Anyone play it? I've been on it constantly, its pretty fun to me because I don't have much else to spend my time on, lol.

o_O

I guess its ok, but pretty useless if you are not willing to invest your money into the game.

IMO the PS3's Home seems more interesting.

I don't play second life, but I would like to recommend a great online 2D game (for those who fell in love with Final Fantasy, etc).

You can find it at astonia.com. It's about a 30 mb download. (Make sure you download version 3.5. Version 3.0 is only free for 28 days then its 9.95 a month... It should automatically offer 3.5)

If you decide to play it, my character's name is Spryte.

Thats an Entire Region (65,536 m2), smallest one is 512 m2 (About 13 dollars when calculating using usd/m2 ratio calculated from Entire Region price, may be lower/higher)

Im just saying what would you do with a virtual piece of land which you have to pay 500 dollars a month for service..

With virtual land that size, you rent it out to many of the other players and make lots of money if you get it filled. Pretty soon I'm joining in on a brand new server for the combat sim I work and script for. Its quite insane what people do and make in Second Life.

Probably quite a few people. Its like buying a reseller host, or shoutcast reseller or something ... why would you honestly need a whole server ( Dedi-Server ) to yourself? You turn around and sell it off piece by piece ... if you do it right, you can pay the monthly fee and have a little left over ...

Its risky though. Its like gambling.

First I thought you want out opinions about the "Second Life" after I saw the thread, but now... didn't played it yet. I don't like PTP (Pay To Play) games. :p

What Is This ?
Second Life ?
Is a game ?

Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its Residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by a total of 9,267,401 Residents from around the globe.
  • From the moment you enter the World you'll discover a vast digital continent, teeming with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity. Once you've explored a bit, perhaps you'll find a perfect parcel of land to build your house or business.
  • You'll also be surrounded by the Creations of your fellow Residents. Because Residents retain the rights to their digital creations, they can buy, sell and trade with other Residents.
  • The Marketplace currently supports millions of US dollars in monthly transactions. This commerce is handled with the in-world unit-of-trade, the Linden dollar, which can be converted to US dollars at several thriving online Linden Dollar exchanges.
