I have a problem with your hosting that I have just signed up for. Internet explorer is giving me a warning that you have a cirtificate error and advises me to close my cpanel. It sees it as a security threat?

It's freaking out because it's a self-signed certificate, and it doesn't like that. Cpanel's safe to add an exception for and ignore.

All it says is that it's a self signed certificate. It's still an SSL certificate, and uses socket-layer protection. It just uses OpenSSL instead of whatever other ssl brands are recognized as "safe" by Micro$oft.

Firefox and Chrome complain too.

"Self signed" certificate can mean that you are victim of a "man in the middle" attack.
