Server down or did i mess something up?

I was working on my website and like 4 hours ago it stopped loading and I'm getting:

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13)

Did i mess something up or is the server having problems? I've been waiting 5 hours and I'll kill myself if i find out that the problem was on my side and I've been waiting and not taking action in the past 5 hours!

Your problems might be due to the server work going on. You will have to wait until all the server work is completed before everything can be returned to normalcy. Please read the News and Information section for more detail.
