I keep getting service temporarily unavailable error and my loading times are slow as hell! it takes about 2 minutes to load a page! What's happening, how can i fix it, and is there some maintenance going on? Also I'm probably buying a paid hosting package soon but now i'm not so sure because I don't want to have these problems!

Please be patient, and try again in a few minutes. Sometimes the servers get a patch of high load, and cannot cope.
If your problem continues after 20-30 minutes, please reply here again, but these issues usually pass soon. Also, try refreshing your page, rather than just re-entering the URL.

Does this happen often? Also does it happen often with paid hosts, because if so I cant host here. Sorry if I sound rude but I've had experience with slow paid hosting and I can't stand it!

No-these issues happen maybe once a week or something silly like that-I wouldn't worry-and to back that up I have free hosting, and can't fault it, so that means paid must be even better.

Find your server in the list...and it's only going to be a longish problem if one of the lights is red (longish problems usually maximum of 2 hours, but usually around 15-30 minutes), so I wouldn't worry. Reliabiltiy is much better on paid, but I'd give free a 10/10-so that just puts it into perspective.
-Note: There's been a red light by ssh on Artic for the last week or something-I doubt that is the cause of your problem.
