Shopping Cart modules session timeout

Hi all,
I'm trying to test various eCommerce solutions and have explored PrestaShop, OScommerce, Cubecart, and TomatoCart - sometimes just trying their demo sites.

What's turning me off from many of them and making things ten times more difficult than need be is that I get a lot of instances where I am told to log in again which sometimes even resets all my previous settings (when doing the demo site tests).

If it were just the one eCommerce solution then I'd address the individual ones but this seems to be consistent across almost all (so far PrestaShop doesn't seem to have this issue) so I'm wondering if it's something on the X10hosting side.

Is there any reason or setting for this issue?

Hello,

This is more likely a browser-related issue. Also, I find there are often some small issues with demo sites as people make changes to the configuration before it is reset. I'd suggest actually installing them here and just seeing if there is any improvement. That's the only reliable way of checking, really.

Thanks stpvoice, and I suppose that's sage advice but doing that ended up giving me a "high-bandwidth automatic account suspension" after a few days of installs/uninstalls. I'm also fairly sure that CubeCart at least had this issue during a full installation. Installations aren't always smooth either where you sometimes have to go in and set file/folder permissions properly and at least once I've had to manually go in and delete the installed files/folders too.

But let's rely on full installations for testing anyway. What other things should I be looking at to avoid these session timeouts?
