Banned for liking your own desktop... oops, wrong thread

And fhogoman... I've never seen anyone pinned their desktop to the left or right side of the screen, mainly 'cos it makes it look rather bulky. Windows 7's taskbar should look cooler, though

I guess habit, my previous job I supported well over a few hundred applications at any given time so multiple apps and browser tabs/windows were more efficient to get to - I agree windows 7 taskbar should look better ;-)

With linux, having a side bar is just as elegant as a bottom bar. :D

I'm a nostalgic user. Mine is a classic windows 95-like desktop, in vista though all graphics options turned off and classic theme, with blue desktop

Yeah, I like desktop threads. I'm surprised this one died out so fast.

In Linux, the bar may look good... and that's about it.
In windows not even the bar looks good, and the rest is so bad words don't suffice.

Oh, and with GNU/Linux not only does the bar look good, you can choose many different bars, and customise them as much as you want.

Linux has so many interface options that it defies description.
I will only say that there are as many unique possible combinations as there are with current motherboards/cpus/graphic cards

If there is ONE thing that no OS beats linux at that is interfaces. And you don't know that.
That tells me you've never used linux as well.

If you think vista is something when it comes to appearance vs linux, then you also know nothing of linux
(tip: see compiz-fusion)

Yet another thing where Vista gets beaten to bits:

(Unfortunately my main pc, i.e. my laptop, is a bit too old for this stuff, so I can only use this on the desktop pc.)
