I've done all the searching on the forum that I can, and the closest answer I've found to my problem required repair to the poster's webpage. Perhaps that's what I need as well.
Here's what I'm trying to do:
I want to post a bunch of PDF documents on my page which will be available to anyone (viewable or downloadable), without any form of password required. Links to these docs will be embedded in a Word doc I will be emailing to various people. I've got the Word side covered.
I'd like the person who receives my word document to be able to go directly to each document from the Word link, but to also to be able to access a simple directory of all the documents (i.e. four or five folders, each containing PDF files) if I give them my webpage address.
I require no graphics, no flashiness...just documents grouped into four to five folders.
Sounds simple doesn't it? And yet, I can't seem to make it happen with X10.
Here are the specific problems which might factor in:
1. I can upload a file, but there is no 'public' folder to drag it to.
2. When I tell my browser to go to my webpage, I get the 404 not found error.
I'm not a tech guy, so a practical answer in English would be very helpful. My thanks in advance!
