Site becomes unable to connect after 24 hours doing nothing

Hi everyone. I'm currently encountering a problem. Just yesterday my site was still accessible, and there was nothing wrong with it. But right now all the browser I tried (firefox, IE, safari) cant connect to it. I have no idea what happened during the last 24 hours.
I tried to log in to my cpanel account and my database is still the same, I ran the database check and it took quite awhile yet there was nothing wrong either. I really need somebody help with this since I just started with the web thing not long ago.

Your forums account is not linked with any hosting account, What is your cPanel username.

for some unknown reasons it works again so problem solved.
However, before the thread is closed, can anybody here let me know what happened? in case it happens again in the long run, i can troubleshoot it myself

Probably server fixed it's self or mysql went back up.
