Site files are served but php/database not working

Noticed this morning that I can't login to my site (my site uses php and connectivity to my database to allow login). The index.php file is still served.

In DirectAdmin I can browse my html files but phpMyAdmin and mySqlManagement, and other tools do not work and timeout (see attached pic).

Is the PHP server down? Is there a way I can get to my database to at least back it up?

Everything back to normal. Was down for about 1.5hours but can now access the admin DB tools and site is fully operational.
