Cpanel: davem_200
Server: stoli
url: www.daveshobbysite.com

I am trying to make a copy of my site to my local server. Each time I try, the transfer freezes and I completely lose access to my site (http or ftp) for an hour or two. I have tried this at least 10 times before asking of assistance. Any ideas what is going on?

What FTP program are you using? It sounds like the firewall is blocking you with a temp ban.

I'm using FileZilla and I have the firewall turned off.
Edit:
I'm using Windows Server 2003 sp2 and I will switch over to Linux and give that a try. You might be on to something...

I will report back later.

Thanks!
Edit:
Ok, I tried Linux using gFTP and I still had the same problem. If your logs don't say anything then I will try different FTP clients and other things.

Thanks again...

It's very weird you get blocked for a period of time after. When it blocks you can you try a tracert to your site and post the results here?

7:28 EST my site is down and I get all red from my account page:
Http down
MySql down
Cpanel down
Ftp down
DNS down

I saw on other posts that you were working on Stoli to remove unused accounts, does that require rebooting the system? If not, I'm real confused... But, I do understand that you need to work on the system from time to time. I used to take care of a server farm for a large manufacturing company and it was painful everytime I had to turn off a system...

The only other thing that might be causing the troubles that I have encountered would be a "routing" problems as described by others.

Just some thoughts...

Thanks again.

Please run the tracer check now, Stoli should be working now.

Timing out isn't good, even after we switched the account IP.

Are you able to access the site at all right now?
