I recently tried to register a second free site, for the company I work for as we needed to store some free space. Upon signing up it told me that the forum name I had was already linked with my own domain. garymoylan.x10hosting.com

So I tried to create a new one but wasn't allowed.

So I changed the domain reference to refer to the new domain in the forum login. Now I have gone to log into my own site this morning and it's gone.

How do I get it back? I hope it hasn't been deleted as this would be a major black hole in your system, no where was I told my site would be deleted if I changed the forum domain link.

I have spent a considerable amount of time on my own site, and will be most dissapointed if it is gone...

First of all. You failed to read the Terms of service. If you had read the terms of service you would have realized that creating more than one account is a TOS violation.

Now as far as you linking this new account to your forum name, when you did this the other account would not be able to be kept active. (Since it wasn't linked to any forum name) Thus leading to and inactivity suspension and finally it was terminated.

And finally? this happened in the space of 24 hours I hardly think that is acceptible. A warning would have been courteous perhaps?

So what you are saying is my site has now been permenantly deleted?

I'm not sure what the cpanel user name is for the ccldoc (the second site) it never worked.

All I did was ask to create it, but it wouldn't allow me to because I didn't have an unlinked Forum name, even after I changed the association in the forum it still told me there was a problem creating it. Regardless I no longer have a need for that as I have uploaded the documents via a free storage platform.

The original site garymoylan, has a forum user name of bigjake, i.e. this name.

The cpanel user name was garymoyl

It's my blog and I have been updating it over the past couple of weeks and I will lose the entries for the past two weeks - unless I can get it back.

The site linked to this forums user name is ccldocs.elementfx.com
With the cPanel user name garymoyl
This site was Created:04/21/08

What i am trying to say is when you did that it left your other account without a forum user name linked to it. Thus making it an inactive account. It was like that for 18 days the termination script ran on inactive accounts and the account must have been terminated. I can not find it in our system.

I understand what you are saying perfectly well Chris. What I am trying to say is the facts as you have related them are incorrect. My site garymoylan.x10hosting was not unlinked from the forum name for 18 days, it was unlinked for less than 24 hours, as I have previously stated (alas, have I been conversing with myself?) Which is why I am so amazed that this has happened.

This is a serious breach in your procedure, and to avoid this happening to any other user I would suggest that you investigate it further.

It does your company a great disservice. I for one if indeed my site is irrevocabaly deleted, will not be using your free, or paid services in the future, when in fact before this incident chances are I would have at some point, used, and recommended, both.

I would also like to point out that the ccldocs/elementfx site was absolutely not created on the 21/4/2008. This was the date the original site was created, my site: garymoylan.x10hosting.com. If your system is indicating otherwise, it is a glitch. The ccldocs/elementfx site was created one day before the first post in this thread, that is, 8/5/2008. The eighth day of the fifth month, as I am British, and using the British date format.

I've unsuspended hosting account: "garymoyl".
I think that what you did is change your primary domain from: garymoylan.x10hosting.com to ccldocs.elementfx.com (the one your account currently has).
You need to remove the default x10hosting welcome index to avoid suspension. You can change your primary domain at the AMP.

Is this the account you're asking about?

Good morning, yes that is the one. However the problem I have is that the actual site content that used to sit at www.garymoylan.x10hosting.com has vanished. For example when I visit www.garymoylan.x10hosting.com the domain is showing as available. This is what I was trying to resolve, but I fear I am flogging a dead horse, Chris has already explained that the site has been purged, and if there is no way to retrieve it I am somewhat stymied.

I used to enter this URL to access my blog.

http://www.garymoylan.x10hosting.com/wordpress

This no longer works.

Wanting some good to come out of this disaster, I think it would be useful if you warned people at the domain change part of the forum user name settings, that if they change their domain link in the forum username, they will have their site deleted within 24 hours. No one told me this, and so I have lost my site completely, it would seem.
