I have the same issue and have also asked for an upgrade.

So this should fix the problem? I didn't see anywhere anything like this; if I'll go and request intermediate PHP, what should I write in the box? I don't have any other reason to upgrade, that's why I'm asking.

Oh, well. I sent a request and got an intermediate PHP config. Though still the sites don't work without a proxy. I think I'm going to spend some more time here, as my problem seems to be very persistent: nothing has worked for me.
