Hi,
Since we no longer have Site Builder - which is what my site was built with, I started creating a new site with SitePad - which now shows that it is created with the old editor - on the SitePad site. I have not published it yet, as my previous Site Builder site is still okay for now, I'm just worried if I publish from SitePad, I will lose everything, as eventually I will need to move to the new editor (on x10hosting). So currently I can't see how I can export the site from old editor, to import into new editor. Do I need to manually do everything again in the new editor, or do you recommend I move to something more standard like WordPress?

Since the old editor is no longer available there would not really be a way to export as that would technically require the old editor (Site Builder) to be installed (though I am not sure it actually have such setting). If I'm not mistaken however the Site Builder was basically just a WYSIWYG html editor, so any such editor should be suitable to make changes. I have not used one in many years though so not sure if there is any good free ones out there (or paid for that matter).

I personally have not looked into the SitePad much, I just saw it was there and ran a quick test, but I'll try to find out if it has an option to import a project.

To make sure you do not lose everything, make sure to make a backup copy of your public_html folder before attempting to publish (download as compressed for safe keeping for instance).

Using something like wordpress does have its advantages, one being easy to edit and move between platforms, it is not dependent on what any host has installed to work, as long as there is php and mysql accessible.

Thanks for your quick response. Backing up public_html is great advice. Unless you can enable something for allowing SitePad to import or export a project, I think I’ll need to start again.
