slow server?

i just installed joomla again on my server. i only have 1 user and have not even started uploading modules or themes or making pages and its taking 10+ seconds to load on page.

my joomla installs on other serves (not x10) are working fine.

What server are you on? I've been notiocing that on Absolut a lot, as that's my server, where sometimes during the day and night, it'll just sit there if my site gets no hits on it at 30 seconds. Otherwise, as soon as I can visit my site, it seems as though if I click 2 times each second, the server will keep up, so I'm seeing the same problem as well on Absolut.

Also, this occurs when I call up both HTML pages or PHP pages.

ya im on absolut im trying to install extentions right now and theres no way i can. it just sits there once i press upload.
Edit:
seems to have fixed itself. working good now.
