Yea I installed it to the root folder.. and I already got my account upgraded :/

Delete everything from the public_html folder. (File Manager)

Then delete the database from the MySQL section.

You should also consider using another bulletin board. SMF is too messy. Especially for people who like something simple.

Try MyBB or PhpBB3.

I deleted what you told me to, but when I tried to install PhpBB Fantastico said

"The installation can not be completed:

- You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain."

:/

Thanks for all this help dude, really appreciate it

When you sign into Fantastico click Remove SMF. Its on the first thing, it says Installed then will say SMF. It will tell you it hasnt removed proberly since you have manually removed it, but it should let you install another script nevertheless.

Okay, it was still moaning about something but I installed it to - http://psycho.pcriot.com/forum

When I look at the Fantastico part it seems to be fine -

Current installations:
/forum (3.0.2) Visit site Remove

However.... when I got to http://psycho.pcriot.com/forum

There's nothing there :/

SMF again? Keep pressing f5 and it will come up.

There is a thread on this issue, I will post back in a min when I find it...

Edit - Found it, http://forums.x10hosting.com/tutorials/56638-blank-smf-site-read.html

Thank you fearghal for looking that up.

mrshambles you could have done a search ,like fearghal had done, first before starting a new thread. It is stated in the rules (if not, I will add).

No problem, I like to help ;)

It's 'NOT' with SMF. So no. I wouldnt have looked it up.

The issue now is with PhpBB not showing up where it should.

Oh, Sorry I didnt see that :happysad:

Ive never had an issue with PhpBB. Maybe a mod should move this for an admin to look at. Looks like a problem with the account rather than software.

Just do these things first;
  • Check your php version is v2.
  • Chech your CHMOD and make sure you havent messed something up there.
  • Make sure your looking in the right dir.
  • Try doing this, (domain)/index.php
Thats all I can think of that you can do. If that doesnt work you will need an admin to do something.
