SMF missing graphics

SMF 1.1.1

I installed SMF using Softaculous (via cPanel) and it's missing the graphics. It displays text links in their place.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words:


I installed PHP-Nuke using Softaculous as well just as a test, and it's missing the graphics as well which leads me to believe something isn't configured on the server's side correctly.

Can you check whether all the subfolders like images and templates/images are installed or not.

Yes, they are installed.

This often happens when installations are not proper .Try installing another theme. I am not sure
about this but this might work

I didn't install any themes. I'm using the default theme that comes with SMF. I tried it with the other two themes that came with it and no graphics show up. I also thought the install my have been corrupt somehow so I even tried uninstalling SMF and reinstalling it.

Check the permissions of images folder and all subfolder in it.

Make sure there permission are set to 755. When I open direct link of the image http://dnd4e.exofire.net/Themes/default/images/off.gif
I got 403 error which means permissions are not correct

The permissions were set to 0777. I changed them to 0755. Still couldn't access http://dnd4e.exofire.net/Themes/default/images/off.gif

I checked my hot linking protection and I had some values in there from last year. Apparently it was blocking the graphics because once I cleared it, my graphics showed up.
