SMTP Error(-1) cannot connect to server

Hello,

When trying to send e-mail from either the Webmail section or a locally configured e-mail client, I get the following error message, which just started happening yesterday for no apparent reason, as I did not make any changes.

Cannot send email because of SMTP Error(-1) cannot connect to server

Any ideas or solutions? Thanks for your help! Oh, by the way, I am on the Level server.

DATABASE ERROR: CONNECTION FAILED!
Unable to connect to the database!
Please contact your server-administrator.

with all the post today about server [ Level ] MySQL errors - I think it is the same issue

Are you on the 'LEVEL' server? If so, I think that still has issues, sorry.

Well, shortly after I posted this, I noticed my whole site went down, which is in line with what other people are experiencing. At this point, I can access the front- and back- ends of my sites, make updates, etc. However, I'm still getting the SMTP mail error listed in the first post, both in a local client and on the Roundcube webmail portal. I suppose the strategy is to be patient and thankful.........

I'm still getting this error, although the rest of my site seems to work fine. Is anyone else getting this when trying to send or receive mail through the LEVEL server? If other people are experiencing this, I will just hold tight and be patient. Otherwise, if this is just happening with my account only, I would like to try to get to the bottom of it, so that I can get back to my regularly-scheduled e-mail correspondence. Thanks for any help or information you can provide.
