SMTP listed as SPAM server

The SMTP is listed with numerous servers around the world as a SPAMMING server and is blacklisted.

Possibly a way to restrict spamming emails being sent? Either a restriction on the number of emails sent as a free user or something along these lings?

For instance: Free hosting user, only send up to 25-50 emails per day etc???

That would most likely assist in protecting your servers from being used by SPAMMERS???

Having a per-account mail limit would help reduce the spamming that occurs. However, there will always be spam sent on free servers as the service is, well, free. To get the best protection, the best idea is to get a paid account, as spammers are not likely to paid for an account to send spam email.

Agreed, this is a problem. For instance, I'd love to have my email, which I send via GMail, arrive without that silly "on behalf of {my real GMail address}" on it. This is only possible if I tell GMail to send via my domain. But if the domain is hosted here, the email I send, gets rejected at a lot of places. :happysad:

Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how to arrange for GMail to send my email via my ISP's SMTP server. Maybe you can figure out how to do that, depending where you have your email stored and thus how you read it. My DNS-fu is not strong enough to figure out my own situation easily, let alone someone else's.

How are you currently sending your email? That is, what tools are you using?

I'm wondering, has Corey or whoever checked the servers against the Spamhaus project? I know that if an IP winds up there, it's pretty much blocked.

Two words: Google Apps (and importing from your existing email account via POP, so you don't lose any messages...)
