While setting up Outlook 2007 with my new domain email, I attempted to send a test message across to make sure the settings were correct. Outlook responded with:

SMTP Server has reported an internal error.. blah blah blah... The Server reported 503 Valid RCPT command must preced DATA

POP3 is fine, its just SMTP I'm having issues with

Oh, and I may be mistaken, but Cpanel Mail Setup is reporting the SMTP Port as port 26, not 25, and as you can guess, port 26 won't connect at all.

And you've set up everything the way cPanel says to?

Yes, I've done everything Cpanel has listed, except for the port, which is at the default 25, because 26 won't connect at all

I suppose I should add domain is 503cmedia.com

pop3 server mail.503cmedia.com
smtp server mail.503cmedia.com

smtp server set to require auth port 25

username = emailaddress+503cmedia.com
password = xxxxxxx

Any ideas? Sorry to bump, but its been a few days. I'll wait a few more days then open a support ticket
Edit:
I got it figured out. I forgot about one vital thing when working with free hosts. Its always better to use your own SMTP server so you can't say your emails were bounced by your ISP :)

So altered SMTP to MY smtp server and voila!

Thanks
