ive just installed a fresh yet to be used copy of Phpbb on my account. That software only requires 12.41 MB total.

Yet the resource counter in my CPanel indicates i am using 19.74 MB and 1,917 / 50,000 inodes.

I had no idea that Phpbb was so file heavy by itself with absolutely no content what-so-ever. Can this be possible ??

Well, i have no mail stored, and no other files at all that im aware of
use a FTP client and look above folder [ public_html ] as a start
then if you are currently using the [ x10hosing's Basic ] cPanel theme - try [ Switch Theme ] near the top-right of the page - and click on [ Switch to cPanel x3 ]
then go to [ Files ] --> [ Disk Space Usage ]

Ok, problem #1 I cant switch themes, that function dont work in my Cpanel, and i couldnt get an answer as to why here, so i gave up on that one. Ive always used the X3 style before but recently it went to the basic style on its own, and ive not been able to get it to switch back. It would be nice if staff would address that but no luck so far. :meh:

That might be because after allowing next to no time (remember, this place isn't being monitored 24/7 by paid staff), you said forget it, you're abandoning the account. If you have a problem, post a support thread, then allow some time for things to happen. It could be several hours; it could be a day or more. There are only a handful of people who have the server access required to fix some problems, so even if there are members of the support team around, they can't necessarily do what needs doing. (For instance, I can't knock any sense into the cPanel preferences system for you. The Basic theme is the default, so if something's gone wrong, that's what you'll get.)

 Thanks for your reply essellar. Let me explain something to you. My main interest in even fooling with a forum at all is to kill time. Im 65 yrs. old , retired, and my only hobby interest is in tropical fish keeping. So its a fit that i run a forum that addresses that hobby. However, most of the hobbyist have long since gone to Facebook fish groups for their fish fix, so there is very little in the way of members that you can entice into joining a normal old style forum.

All that being said, whether a forum works just right or not is not a big concern to me like it is to some folks, if it was i would pay for real hosting and put my own domain on it.

What does bother me just a little is that my entire life, if i ever started a job of any kind, i always made sure that when i offered the finished product to any customer, it was right, and stayed that way, as my main objective, without having to be told a dozen times that it wasnt right. Again, not a big deal here i suppose, but no matter.

I do understand what you've said, but what is the excuse, once X10 is aware of an issue, in just leaving it broke, because the one that complained originally, says that they dont care anymore, and have decided to ditch the junk. ?

Trust me, im not being mean or rude, that is not my intent, just trying to understand the business plan here going forward for X10 and their reputation. It wont affect me either way.

The answers received in my mind, is a real reflection on what can be expected in the future. ;)

Added Note: Since i find it very unlikely that my issue with the CPanel will ever get fixed, and i cant do it myself as it is, would some member of staff with the ability, simply delete that account ie: freshw14, and we can just call all this a day. Thank You

I see that as of the date and time of this post that my account at freshw14 has not been deleted and that account closed.

i requested that so as not to be in violation of the TOS by have more than one account, as i have created a new account to fix the issues i was having that seemingly couldnt be fixed.

And lo-and-behold all my issues are now resolved, with the exception of that old account being deleted (freshw14) I would have done it myself but that option was not available in the CPanel.

Does anyone care, or should i just let that old account eventually delete itself due to inactivity ?

As i said i am trying to remain within the TOS by not have more than one account open.

To delete your free-hosting account --> sign in to cPanel at [ https://www.x10hosting.com/sso/login ] - then click on [ Settings ] near the top right - then down and to the left is [ Delete Account ]

Your account will be suspended - and it will be fully terminated in approximately 21 days

NOTE: forum, and client, accounts remain, only the actual hosting part is deleted

Thank you but i dont think you completely read my initial request. It was impossible for me to change from basic to X3 Cpanel, and that is where the settings feature is. Without that, i couldnt delete or request an auto deletion. Plus i was having issues related to Cloudflare and others. So i have created a new account, that has solved all my issues, maybe because of being on a different server this time.

I just dont want to have more than one account open which i think is against the rules here.

no need to change to [ cPanel-x3 ] theme - after you sign in at [ https://www.x10hosting.com/sso/login ] - look at the top of the page for [ Settings ] - then down and to the left on that page for [ Delete Account ]
