SQL is rediculously slow

When loading pages on my site that aren't viewed often, it takes a minute or more to get any results. When looking at the bottom of the page for the load statistics I get results like this

18 queries. 46.095 seconds.

Is this gross delay due to the ongoing server maintenance or is there something wrong? I believe I'm hosted on Cossaks.

Edit, this one is fun:

28 queries. 146.053 seconds.

And that was just loading the front page.

It's most likely because of everything we're doing. I just went to your site and got:

"26 queries. 2.136 seconds."

Which still isn't the best but much better than what you posted. Because of all the scripts we're running it's hard to say for sure but you're probably right.
