statfink setup problem - database connection

I think I am having database connection problems. I am trying to set up statfink and cant get past the configuration page.
url: http://mysitename.pcriot.com/statfink/
host: localhost
dbName: userName_main
Database Username: userName_vince

on this same page I get this error:
Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/.../public_html/statfink/helm/config/index.php on line 150

Is there something wrong with my configuration parameters? Do you have any idea how I could get connected to the MySQL database? Did I do something wrong in the setup of the database? Ive been trying many things but to no avail.

Ive tried the tutorial like 5 times already and same doggone error every time. I notice that when I try any ol link (i.e. "blah") in the "full url" field nothing happens. Like no additional errors show up. This goes the same for the Database Name. Anything else like username or password or localhost and I get additional errors. I honestly have tried just about everythign I can think of an am at a loss now.
Edit:
I go to the configuration page and fill in all the details listed above...Then I click Save Settings....then I click "click this link" to create the correct tables and a next page loads up but is completely blank. I think go back and click on go back to main config page and thats where I get that error.
