I'm still not sure of what's happening with this but I selected as per menu enable SSL
I then see a choice of use server signed certificate and other choices

Ive gone with the default selection of , "use server signed certificate " because if I select , " Lets encrypt " , then this then throws an error

Ive also ticked force SSL which under the selected default heading of "use server signed certificate " as this does not seem to complain about and then save there after

But ......

On re entering a url of , "https://eliteprojects.x10host.com " , ssl enabled this then replies with

Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to eliteprojects.x10host.com.

If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details

and of course no site displayed

If I then enter , " "http://eliteprojects.x10host.com " then I see the locked padlock sign and am advised connection is not secure
but site displayed

This was up until I ticked force SSL I then disabled SSL and nothing works which sounds about my luck these days

I then thought well I dont understand this apart from knowing that a site has to have certificate of authority which verifies server etc

This morning I tried the following thinking fresh start tomorrow morning , clear head who knows

I tried more steps to see if I could get this to work

1: The first step I tied was to disable ssh and retried to access site with links of http://eliteprojects.x10host.com >> No joy and redirects too https://eliteprojects.x10host.com I assume this is forced redirect although not selected and should be disabled

2: Next I tried both with www inserted into the url with both http and https => No joy and both showing same error

I then tried re enabling and using self signed certificate and the same issue

I then disabled SSL again and retried with http://eliteprojects.x10host.com && http://www.eliteprojects.x10.host.com both return same issue

I then further tried renaming the domain to eliteelectronics.x10host.com , but nope not on your nelly , this will not accept this either

I would attach the two images of the certificate I have taken but knowing that contains the keys I wouldn't think this the best option owing to security

This afternoon I then tried clearing browser cache thinking well could be client side issues
After clearing browser cache

Whoopy , low behold "without SSL enabled " , this now works and site appears but sadly wanting my site to use SSL I still have this issue even though icon now appears and I can supposedly set up certificate of authenticity either self signed or server assigned

Any one who can guide me through this would be very much appreciated

I'm afraid I'm slightly non conversant with this SSL business at present despite reading up extensively on DNS m, CNAME , A Records , MX records and gaining better understanding of what this does

All or any advice and real guidance for novice at this stage would be extremely helpful on this topic or a HOW TO explained in real laymen's terms

What is it I'm not doing correctly at this point

Thanking you all + Anna for prompt replies to date

please go to this page and then save

https://x12.x10hosting.com:2222/user/ssl/letsencrypt

Please keep in mind, in accordance with the post at the top of this forum, that letsencrypt certificates may be delayed since all users are being transferred to this option. I do not have any indicator on my end whether or not your certificate is generated.
