Hi guys,
Our apologies for using excessive server resources, it's difficult to know what level is acceptable without some form of feedback. If we reduce the workload and freaquency of our PHP server side scripting then could we please have 'allow_url_fopen' set to ON again?

It would be benificial to know how much over the 'acceptable use' threshold we were in order that we can ensure this never happens again and so that we know how much reduction we need to make.

Best regards

Apparently the configuration settings for some external file retrieval PHP functions have been changed.

At the moment, the cURL library is a working alternative for many scripts. Perhaps you could look into that.

I have asked Staff for a clarification on the situation and will pass it on when I get a response.

Thankyou descalzo,

have ammended our server scripts to use cURL as suggested and reduced both the amount and freaquency of external file retrieval whilst testing and fine tuning the rest of the site.
