Hello,
Whilst I agree, I could get premium to speed things up, I'm not quite ready to do that yet.

I have noticed that things seems to have slowed down on the server since the upgrade. I recently deleted my blog and replaced wordpress with a simple theme. The thing is, before the server upgrade, I could install wordpress updates automatically. Now I can't, it wouldn't even automatically install themes, today. So I have to save and upload to the server.

I'm not ungrateful for the free service, just wonder if I have something wrong in my Cpanel?

Hello,

Wordpress may have issues pulling content like that as most outgoing ports are blocked to prevent abuse. I've never been able to do it on free (recently, anyway). "Slowness" is very dynamic. The servers may have a period of high load, which can of course affect the speed. Unfortunately, on free, you've just got to put up with it.
