Sub Domain question.

I was wondering if a sub domain is allowed or can be made if I am not paying for my x10hosting account. Or should I pay so that I can have a sub domain?

I didn't want to make one and then run into trouble along the way.

Yes - you're permitted to use anything in cPanel - we can disable any features we don't want you to use. Anything you see in cPanel you're welcome to make good use of.
