Would it be possible to create a Subversion repository to use with my hosting account? If not, can I have SVN use my FTP account to host files, since I have unlimited storage space?

Another question: Can Redmine or Trac be installed on my free hosting account? Redmine uses Ruby on Rails and Trac uses Python.

If it were even possible, which I don't think it will be, that would likely count as file hosting and is a suspendible violation. The space if there to host your website, not for you to store your files.
If you really need to host your SVN externally, you'll either have to pay for it or you could switch to git or mercurial and use GitHub or BitBucket if the project is a public one.

* File Hosting Every file on your site must have to do with the website you put up, we are not a file storage service

* File Storage: Accounts are not to be used for file storage, your account will be permenantly suspended if found to be breaking this rule. Downloads are only allowed on your x10Hosting account if they have to do directly with your website. e.g. you developed custom software and are selling it or giving it away. Accounts may not be used for mirrors, game file hosting, or any other type of file hosting not specified here.

They do not support Ruby (or RoR ) or Python.

Thanks for the info. I decided to use Assembla to host the repository, and am now looking at WebSVN to access the repository remotely.
