Suggestion For A Server Alert Page

Well ive been reading some suggestions in this section
and i find some impractical such as autoemailing when the server is down
1.server is down
2.increases server load

i noticed when the server runs some fcuk or restart the hosting server does go down but the main server for the web does not


maybe you guys could set a status page informing the current status of the free server and upcomming activities which could suggest some downtime.
If you think that it work increase the amount of work done for the admins? yea but it will decrease the amount of ignorant people making incessant post in the forums.

Another thing i assume you may ask if the news/server alert section is exactly for this purpose.
i present this as because those sections are abit clouded.
I got confused sometimes and takes awhile before i know which is the latest threads
I suggest that you keep the news forum but also open a new status page in the main website.

i read corey's thing about complains... yeah give the admins a break

A few people have made their own sever alert pages, such as the one Brandon posted above (which appears to be down at the moment).
