You may have to log in before you post (although that's not actually necessary if you've got the "remember me" cookie happening), but you don't have to log into the SSO portal to log into the forum. You also don't have to log into the portal to use cPanel or FTP. Not relying on apparent side effects that don't necessarily stem from a required action might be a better idea. And what does any of this have to do with SSL on Free Hosting?
