I get a a blank page for one function of my forum. The problem occurs when I try to set permissions for different user groups and hence rather vital, even though not subject to frequent changes. Could also be possible that $_POST size limit in PHP itself have been exceeded they said, but to find out what is the cause I suppose asking cant harm :).

I asked at their support section, one possible cause was suhosin they said, also it could possibly be that $_POST size limit in PHP itself have been exceeded they said.

So to determine wich of these it is I ask:

Do you run Suhosin?

ok, thanks for that info.
Then at least we know why it does happen. And for some reason I don't think that you will stop that either :) Aha well, annoying for me, but I understand you want security since I assume that is why you do it

Usually there is a work around, did they say what part of suhosin is blocking the script?

By the discussion it sounded as it was due to the number of post variables exceeding a set limit

I have a personal workaround though, I still have a copy on my local web server on my computer so I can make proper changes there and just import that table to the database, that's how I did it when I first found the issue after upgrade (I had to go change a couple things manually)

It'll be ok anyways, for next version the system for perms will most likely get rewritten anyways.

Not only because of this, but partly, the system is not really good if you have more then just a few forums (up to 10 it is fairly easy use).

I will have to manage any updates in perms locally and then just upload it for now. As I see it the only option otherwise would probably be changing that limit, might be other solutions as well that I don't know of though.

Thank you for your time :)

We are working on a system to implement different PHP versions for people. This might benefit you once we're done. Probably be a week or two though.
