Hi - I am using your hosting service to show my photos in slide shows. I use jalbum to produce the slideshow and allow the viewer to download the hi-res jpeg version of photos so they can print them if so desired. Is this not allowed? I spent a lot of time uploading web sites and slideshows and had the impression there was no limit to file sizes either individually or in aggregate, can you clarify what is and what is not allowed and whether there is anything I can do to reactivate the account? I note there are a lot of people that have had this problem - it is a pity for all of us that your promo material isn't a little more explicit about this - many of us don't go to the fine print of terms of service if the promotion material is sufficient. Thanks in advance.

Well, the major problem I'm seeing on the re-review is a combination of a TON of unlinked files, the fact that none of the default index pages actually contain -any- links to said material in any way, shape or form, and that I'm finding quite a few instances of copyright infringing mp3's on the account.

Image Hosting or File Hosting is when the account is being used purely for storage and has no valid website to go with it. The TOS did indicate you have a MAXIMUM of 1gb for image galleries as well, but the major problem is that anyone viewing the url linked to your account is treated to a page with zero links at all. No slideshow, no jalbum install, nothing.

That'd be why it got picked up for image hosting, although I'm updating it to File Hosting/Copyright Infringement per what I discovered when I did a re-review of the account. The TOS does make it clear under File Hosting that downloads are only allowed if they have to do with the site put up - the problem is there is no actual site visible at the URL on your account. Hard to make the downloads relate to a linkless website.

I'm sorry, if there are any images without links. And I'd like to know of slideshows that don't work - I've tested them all and can't recall any not working. (Though, I remember jalbum messing some slideshows up when I used it to do the uploading). I'm also not aware of any mp3 files other than ones I've recorded myself. I would be pleased to clean up and remove any images not referenced and mp3 files that are not mine. Have you a report I can use to identify the problems?

No as it's permanent, there's no way to fix this at this point.

Whether or not the slideshows work was not what I was pointing out. What I was pointing out is that the website uploaded, the only one viewable when viewing your domain, has no links and no slideshows.

Because of this being a permanent suspension, there is no way to fix it. Under the TOS sections 6 and 8, there is no resolution possible.

Pity. All that work and uploading. I wish I would have reviewed some of your postings before I signed on. You guys often unilaterally permanently suspend peoples accounts. The poor teacher that scanned antiquities that you suspended is a good example. Is there somewhere on your site I can express my disappointment with your service?

On large websites that are not automatically managed the chances of a broken link is high. To suspend accounts as often as you do without remedy is poor customer service.

Broken links are understandable. What is your excuse for over 1.5gb of images and MP3's that have no evidence of being part of any website in any way, shape, or form?

And the teacher scanning antiquities? Copyright Infringement and file hosting as well, especially depending on the age of the book. If it's not free from copyright, it's theft.

This is pretty much the best spot to express disappointment, given what was on your account. In the whole account, there are 444 mp3's. And I must go and start quoting the TOS you agreed to on signup:

* Illegal Material: This includes copyrighted works, commercial audio, video, or music files, and any material in violation of any Federal, State, or Local regulation. You may not store copyrighted Mp3s or videos on your webspace in any way shape or form.

Four Hundred Forty Four. This is half of the suspension - no where on the 3 index pages or any of their respective links (which are none) do I see any links for why there are 444 mp3's on this account totalling approximately 380mb, along with over 1gb of images.

The image sizes themselves bring up a problem:
* Personal Image\Video Galleries: Personal galleries are limited to 1GB of disk space for images and videos.

More than 1gb.

Thats why this is suspended, and why it's permanent. You're more than welcome to not like it (you sure won't be the first), but you -did- agree to the TOS on signup. If you don't like the TOS, that's fine, but you do have to abide by it. Failing to do so never ends well.

This ticket is closed, the issue is resolved. Complaining won't get you anywhere at this point anyways, other than potentially losing all future access to the forums completely.
