Team Fortress 2 is now a free game, thanks to the new micro-purchasing system VALVe has put in place to bring in money from the game. So as it stands now, anyone with a Steam account and a capable PC can download the game if they don't already own it and play it. Those who do already, well congrats as you are a Premium TF2 player and should have received a hat, too.
Steam accounts can be created for free. TF2 runs on Windows and on Macs, and it will run on Linux via WINE provided you have the proper 3D driver installed for your video card.
x10Hosting does have a TF2 server online if you wish to join it. See the Community Game Servers thread stickied on this forum for the info to connect to it.
