Are you creating the template yourself? If you made the design in photoshop or something, you've gotta save each individual image seperately, and then write the HTML for it.
If you downloaded the template, it came with everything.
If you're using an ftp client, just connect to your site via that, and replace the index.html file in the public_html folder with the one that came with the template you downloaded. Then place all of the images and other codes that came with the template in the coresponding folders in the index_html file.
