text ads do not show up in xhtml

I'm not sure whether or not someone has addressed this issue already, so let me bring it up anyway:

I wrote my website in xhtml 1.1 (yes, it is valid and named it with the proper .xhtml extension. However, upon doing so, I noticed that the text ads refuse to work. After a bit of fiddling, I found that if I rename it to a .html extension instead, the ad script works just fine. You might want to fix the script so that it works no matter the page extension.

In response to many community requests we’re making Openads XHTML compliant. You can expect this in the next release of Openads. Thanks to everyone who suggested this feature.

I'll check into if they have a newer version than what we're using yet, otherwise we might have to wait a bit.
