This should be an interesting topic if not for the discussion and information, but even to hear theories and expand our 'knowledge'.
Here is a lovely video that I think would help almost anyone grasp the concepts and such of the 4th spacial dimension.

I know science has claimed time to be the 4th dimension, but this is why I am clearly stating the 4th spacial dimension. Since we exist in 'space-time' our physicial reality is intertwined with time itself, thus 'space-time'. but as you know there is a first dimension(like a simple line), then a second(a simple object on paper) and our third dimension(object we see and interact with). So when discussing spacial dimensions then the 4th spacial dimension is simple a new direction of movement.
In the first dimension you have fowards and backwards movement. This is a line. In the second dimension you add left and right, thus giving you the ability to connect likes in different directions. Then you are moving on a 2D plane(not airplane). And with the 3D dimension we add up and down, giving us an amazing amount of mobility to seemingly move in 'all' directions. But if you try remember things like 'the universe(sun, solar system, etc.) doesn't revolve around us and there are bigger and more complicated things out there beyond our understanding, then you can probably begin to see that a 4th dimension would exist, and not just because scientist say so with their fancy equations.
It isn't really possibly for us to say exactly what new direction the 4th dimension adds. Just like in that video, a two dimensional person can not interact with the up and down movements, thus if you asked them to point in this new direction that they don't have, it would be impossible. So for us in the third dimension, we simply can not give a direction to go in for this 4th dimension. Because to us we look around in every possible direction and only see the 3 dimensions we are confiened to.
And in that video there is the part where he talks about the 2-dimensional object entering the third dimension. Well, I'm not really sure how well that would work. Not to say that something can't enter a higher dimension, but all 5 of our senses are designed to work in 3 dimensions and simply only work in 3 dimensions. So if we entered a 4th dimension we wouldn't see things properly, as our eyes are only able to interpret 3 dimensions.
But honestly I find the fourth dimension simply amazing. Essientially, if we could enter and exit the fourth dimension on command, we could appear to walk through walls and things such as this. Simply because upon entering the 4th dimension, we break out of any visible sight as well as break away from any other sense. You can't touch 4-dimensional objects, well, maybe only if they were to enter our 3rd dimnension, or we enter the 4th.
But yes, if anyone had the ability to move or change dimensions, then you would gain 'abilities' that seem to be unhuman. Kind of like in the movie 'Jumper'(if anyone has seen it). of course that isn't changing dimensions(if you've seen the movie you know what it really is). But changing dimensions would be similar.
And of course the 4th dimension brings up questions of 'supernatural' and 'paranormal' occurances. If 4th dimension beings were to enter our dimension or attempt to interact with us in our dimension, well it wouldn't be as simple as seeing another person or creature standing there. Only being able to see in 3 dimensions prevents us from actually seeing the 4th dimensional being and in return(kind of like the shadow thing talked about in the video) we end up seeing some unusual shapes and formations that do not seem to fit anything we know or understand.
But truely an interesting topic as well and amazing and intriging(sp?). If I were a super hero I'd have the ability to change dimensions. Superman can't beat that, can he now?
