I really miss my 20mb connection *cries*
Have a 24Mbps connection here that shouldn't be running at any more than 15Mbps/1Mbps. Don't ask how my DSL modem wound up uncapped, but it's nice downloading at 2.4MB/s, and uploading at 300KB/s. Wish I had FiOS though. It was supposed to be installed here 3 years ago, yet the stopped building the cabling out two miles from here.
I live in the middle of nowhere on a hill - all we have nearby is ... Fields, umm, some horses, supposedly some cows, and a church! Oh, how could I forget - the pub!
We have a 10gb monthly bandwidth cap.
Middle of nowhere is no excuse for bandwidth caps. The DSLAM should at least have an OC3 running out to it. Even in the most middle of nowhere areas out where I am where a DSLAM is running off of a few T1 lines, there's no bandwidth caps. You just can't get speeds higher than 3Mbps. I'm smack dab in the middle of the Middle of Nowhere to City area for my part of NY, and here I am cruising along with the option to get 50Mbps cable. Oh and yes, there are middle of nowhere areas in NY getting 15Mbps/1Mbps speeds and even 50Mbps/5Mbps cable with no bandwidth caps or throttles. Like I said, tell BT to pound sand for being idiots. Bandwidth caps are for 3G/3G on Steroids services, and anything wireless, NOT wireline services!
now that's just lame... well, lame and rather insulting too LOL We don't have a bw cap, just a speed cap, damn you Comcast!!!!! *I shake my fist at chu!* *shake shake, shake shake* ROFL
Comcast does have a bandwidth cap. It's a silent/soft cap of 250GB. If you go over that, Comcast may not care but past that point they will probably ask you to move to a Business Class provisioning.
