I only heard from friends didn't saw it myself or didn't read the book
but my friends say the movie is very good only if you didn't read the book
if you read the book then the movie will be very bad that is what some friends told me

i may not be a christian but being a multi-racial social here, i understand why they are angry for. On second hand, we should just treat it as a Fiction and watch for enjoyment. Keep cool and enjoy this wonderfully done film.

well the problem is is that part of it is non-fiction, and so if people see that as true or real then they might think of everything else in the movie as true or real too, because there are some truths in there but most of it is just fiction

Okay, I believe that if you read the book, and you believe that it goes against what your religious beliefs are, then fine, hate the book, but here's the kicker: READ IT FIRST!

People who say things like "Harry Potter promotes witchcraft" and "The Davinci code is evil" and never read the book(s) in question should be drug out into the street and shot. Seriously.

If I went off onto a rampage about something I know nothing (or very little) about, I'd be considered a fruit cake. But add something about how I think it's anti-religion then it's "we must destroy this and everthing about it, before our precious little babies read this and start slaughtering goats and raping nuns".

I mean, God forbid parents let their children make a decision for themselves. These are probably the same parents who don't want "winners and losers" at sporting events, and want to remove the honor roll because "It makes my child upset when he doesn't get on it".

/me takes his soapbox and high tails it outta here

Why should we be against or for the da vinci code???
Why should we be against or for "Harry Potter"???
They are both movies, some people like it, others doesn't, both films got a book, and who have readen the book say the story isn't right, true, but how hard is it to make a film the same as a book??
Ever seen one that is the same? NO Because It just Can't Be Done ! ! !

So i am not before or against the da vinci code, I just like the book and movie .

The Da Vinci Code is a good read, but don't expect anything too thought provoking. Dan Brown is very good at the hooks, but I wouldn't call his book a work of literature. It reads like a movie, and there's no doubt in my mind he had Hollywood in his sights when he was writing this.

as for the controversy, you can get research to support anything you believe in. I really don't care about it, because at the root, the DaVinci Code is nothing more than American capitalism at its best. anything that touches on religion, most particularly Catholism and american protestantism, generates controversy and thus big money.

despite what Brown is putting out there for his book, just look at where his novel is placed: the fiction shelves. not in the non-fiction, not the the literature section, just fiction, a book you can curl up with when you want to steal away from reality for a little while.
