I'm trying to install myBB and the field Board email address is creating the error message "The email address is not valid."

I had a myBB on here until recently, but accidentally let my account lapse due to inactivity. It was so long ago since I created it and my head is in a fog; what could I be overlooking? (I could just upload my saved files, but I was going to start fresh, as this is a whole different genre. Plus, I figure that's cheating, and I want to lean things.)

Thanks!

Are you sure the email is valid and that you don't have any typos in it?

I'm assuming that the board email is gonna be what comes up as sender when you send out emails through the board, such as registrations for instance. To actually get those to work the email needs to be one that you have configured in your account due to spam prevention reasons (myBB shouldn't care though so regardless of email input the install should work).

Thank you for your reply,

100% sure of no typos. (I know the frustration of helping others only to find out that was the user error. ...and have embarrassed myself a couple of times with it... even if I was the only one helping me. Still very frustrating.)

I thought you might have been on to something and I tried setting up an email here on x10. My excitement was all for naught. It didn't work. I'm still getting the error message. I remembered last night that it was something dumb like it had to be a paid email account (from an ISP for example.) (If that's the case, then I'm S.O.L, because we last had one of those five years ago.)

-----------

Edit: *raises hand* User error. Guilty. I was so focused on the Board Email Address that I neglected the Admin Email

*sigh* now to go figure out the "Could not unzip the Language files." error code.

*goes to hide in a hole from embarrassment*
